I'm curious about firewood delivery too, if that's what you mean. It can be hard to find good, seasoned, well-split wood (I like it in smaller pieces).

Any recommendations out there? And what have you paid for a cord? Did they stack it for you?

A couple of years ago I used a place in Scotch Plains. Number is (908) 232-9030. Price was $180.00 for a Full Cord ($165.00 plus $15.00 delivery).

We've used Schifferstein's farm in Clark. Nice, nice people, good price, but it takes them forever to finally come and you have to call and call and call. They are in the book.

We've got our fire wood from Paul Jost of PJ Tree in Maplewood for the past 2 years. He'll even stack it for you(an extra $20). We also got a log holder at HomeDepot, to keep it off the ground and it has a cover. PJ does tree removal and tree-trimming also.

Paul's number is:

We use Paul for tree trimming and have had him remove a diseased tree for us. Work was first class and reasonable. In addition, he doesn't use a bucket truck, so there is no damage to lawns and flower beds.

Paul is so small too, when he climbs those trees he's like a monkey!

Maplewood Tree Service -- mr. Macintosh. Got a half a cord (I think.....can't check, hubby's asleep...it's a big-ass pile, though) for $100, delivered but not stacked.

Can anyone comment on how their wood burned? Lots of places sell wood, but for a good fire, it's gotta be well seasoned.

We are getting a cord of wood delivered today from a seller with the last name Molnar (sorry to be this vague, but my husband handles these things). We last bought a cord from him, which we split with a neighbor, two winters ago. The wood was superb - burned (again, according to my New England born/bred husband) like a dream. I doubt we'll need an entire cord this winter, as we've just bought a new boiler! If anyone might like to buy 1/4 or 1/2 of the cord, please send me a private line. Thanks, Spry.

I have a bunch of wood in my backyard. Was here when i moved in recenlty. looks like a tree that had been trimmed. I'd like to get rid of it - if you can take it away, its yours. can't beat the price! email akisch@verizon.net
