I called my doctor's office the other day & they're not giving out flu shots this year unless you're over 65. I called CVS on Millburn Ave & they're giving them out on Nov. 6th. Short of calling every pharmacy around, does anyone know where to get a schedule? If no schedule, does anyone know of any place sooner?

Thanks!

Cornercopia already did the flu shots a few weeks ago (I got mine then). I don't know if they are doing it again this Fall.

Drug Fair in the Millburn Mall always did them as well. You might want to give them a call.

Both flu and pneumonia shots are available at Drug Fair on Vauxhall. I'm not sure of the dates, having made an appt with my MD. For the general public there is also a new vaccination this year called Flu-Mist, an inhaled vaccination requiring no needles. However, it is not available to those of us with asthma and certain other chronic disorders.

New-

Try calling your doc back & insisting. The office is not following CDC recommended guidelines this year. In the past, there has been a shortage and vaccines have been held for those who were 65+ and immuno-compromised. This year, there is plenty to go around & most docs will give them to all who ask. If your doctor doesn't want to have a conversation & be a partner in your healthcare, you may want to consider a new doctor!

I was at Drug Fair late this afternoon. A sign posted there said flu (and pneumonia) shots will be given tomorrow, Sunday 10/26, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. $17 for flu, $24 for pneumonia.

Thankfully, mine was taken care of at work, gratis.

On Vauxhall Road, just over the Millburn border. Where the bridge is being repaired. Yes, you can drive into the Millburn Plaza area, just not beyond.

Thanks. I may go there, although I am a little leery of getting a flu shot in a drugstore.

FYI, Flu Mist, the needle-less vaccine, is only for people up to age 49. Sorry to the half-centurians and older.
