Hi,

I am looking for a desk for my daughter..I would like good solid unfinished wood so I can stain it to match other furniture Ive stained for her room. (Id also consider a finished wooden desk as long as it was all wood and not pressboard and sand and re-finish it.) Anyone know where I should try? I tried the "unfinished wood" places on 22 and 10 but I just think I can get a better deal somewhere else..online or offline. Any suggestions are appreciated...thanks.

Hank,

Try this link http://www.amfurniture.com

I've seen the product at Lowes and it is a solid piece of furniture.
Good luck

Check out gothic cabinets in Newark and online, too. Most of their stuff is pine and birch.

Don't know how much you're willing to spend, but we got a custom-made coffee table from Mr. MacIver. Beautiful woodworking...

I "third" Gothic Cabinet Craft. We got two desks and a dresser for my daughters from them. We finished them ourselves.

They're not super high quality, but they're quite decent and a good value for the money. Cheaper would have been flimsy, and sturdier would have been much more expensive. It's a good company, too.

Thanks for the suggestions..I checked out all the websites, where possible.

canismajor..the two websites for Hanco and Derbyshire's were practically identical..I will try Hanco since its closer.

Swato..I checked out the amfurniture site..do they make desks? I didnt see anything listed for desks..but if they do, I'll take a run to Lowe's one day.

Thanks y'all.
