I'd appreciate any recommendations for a pediatrician in Maplewood and/or the surrounding areas who either has early morning or evening hours. Thanks in advance. |

We've been very happy with Dr. Cotler in Millburn. He has drop in hours m- f from 7;30 to 8:45 (?) whenever public school is open. This has been a lifesaver for two working parents. |

We use Dr. Michelle Bender, in Summit. She's with Summit Medical Group. We really, really like her for our 10 year old. Not sure on the hours, but I'm pretty sure she as some late ones... |

We recently became patients of Dr Scott Orenberg. He is a GP and pediatrician and doctor of osteopathy. He is great! We love him. 1985 Springfield Ave, next to Dunkin Donuts. 973-763-5010. As a bonus, his office staff is efficient! This is not the case at all doctor's offices.

Strongly 2nd Dr. Cotler. Good guy (kids love him) and he has very convenient hours. That drop in period really is a life saver. |

We love Dr. Cotler. Because of his gentle but respectful manner with them, my twins (boy/girl),now age 4, have no fear of going to the doctor - including when, once, because of the late hour, we had to go to the emergency room at St. Barnabus. His diagnoses have always been right on target. Private line if you have any other questions. |

Second for Dr. Gruenwald (and Commandatore). They aer on Milburn Av just off Valley. They have early and late hours almost every day as well as Saturdays. (They will also see a sick kid in the office on Sunday instead of sending them to the ER). I love the staff and always get an answer to any question I have or a call back from the Doctor. |

Third for Dr. Gruenwald. He is terrific doctor, always responds to messages, and never ever makes me feel rushed. We are also two working parents and switched to his practice because it is accomodating with early morning, late evening and weekend appointments. |

Another recommendation for Gruenwald. Very accommodating, very friendly, nice office staff, lots of toys in its bright and spacious waiting area, also a special waiting area for sick kids. Recently my daughter fell and cut her head, which bled profusely (as heads do); they rushed me in on the spot. We've used them for four years without complaint. I recommend Dr Sterio there; she's my favorite. |

Another for Dr. Gruenwald, Commandatore and Sterio. They are very accommodating, and the nurses are always available (maybe waiting a minute or two) to answer questions on the phone. We are first time parents of a newborn and tend to have questions quite frequently. We have seen all 3 doctors and have been very pleased. |

On the Summit Medical Group, and Dr. Bender: One thing I recently discovered was that their Emergency Care (not hospital) is really, really good and applies equally to pediatrics. The center in Summit is open on Sundays starting at 8:30 a.m. (and Saturdays). This has been huge. Where we used to live, there were very limited Sat hrs, and certainly no Sundays. So, I guess I'm pretty darned happy with both Dr. Bender and Summit as an overall medical group. |

Gruenwald is great. Nice staff, waiting room, hours. He's fabulous. Sterio is good too. My cousin's been using him for 12 years with 3 kids and loves him too. |

Another enthusiastic vote for Gruenwald and Commandatore. We love them, our son loves them and he always looks forward to going to his doctor appts. Not a huge fan of Sterio because of her bedside manner but she is a very good doc as well. |

We love Gruenwald, Camandatore and Sterio! We had a medical emergency last night and I phoned them @ 11:15pm, within 1 minute, I was speaking to Gruenwald and he eased my fears. The next morning, the kids and I went in to see him and he and Sterio made double sure I was comforted and all was well. BRAVO! |
