I opened an additional AT&T Free2go line while waiting for my current Family Share account to expire in January. Service is pretty good and coverage/reception is the same as AT&T regular TDMA. You can get a $99 Nokia phone from the AT&T store or @ Target. Or you can fish for a brand new one on EBay like I did for $50. You can also get re-up cards cheaper on EBay as well.

I am talking Free2go and not the AT&T "GO" phones. Also roaming charges are monstrous if you select the local plan when you activate the phone.

How much does AT&T free2go cost, by the minute? How quickly do you have to use up each allotment before it disappears?

Att mins expire in 45 days and do roll over once you re-up. I usually get a $25 re-up card (pin #) on E-bay for $20

Interesting, it appears you can keep your cell phone # when switching service providers come Nov 24th. I hope Att decideds to offer some type of incentative to keep older customers from migrating by the time my Shared Family contract expires.
