Shouldn't be this difficult, but I just want a simple, all wood rocking horse for my 18 month old.
No plush fabric, preferably no yarn mane or tail, don't want anything painted with balloons or teddy bears either! I've searched online and haven't really seen anything that fits the bill.
Any suggestions?

If you don't mind ordering from a catalog and paying shipping, check out Nova Naturals (awesome wood toys), Rosie Hippos, Magic Cabin, Back to Basic Toys. Each has a web-site. Post back if you don't find anything and I'll check more of my stash of catalogs for you - oh if you stop at Whole Foods, pick up an issue of Mothering Magazine and look at the ads in the back, there are a TON of wooden toy vendors.

Eddie Bauer. My kids have them. They were once plain, now stickered, glued, glittered, and so on. I would also check Milk Money.

Here's another supplier of high-quality unadorned wooden toys.

And IKEA has a pretty basic and cheap one.

Hmmm, Ikea could work. Do you know if it's wood? (I don't care if it's not solid hardwood, I just don't want plastic.) Checked out a lot of stuff online and prices vary greatly ($40- 120) between very similar looking items. Also, shipping charges add quite a bit, so I'd prefer to be able to pick it up. On ebay there was a listing for a Restore & Restyle one, which is from Target, so I might try there too.

If anyone has one sitting around unused (do you dump clothes on it, like a treadmill in your toddler's room?) privateline me. I'd love to take it off your hands for $.

Thanks!

We've got the IKEA one and yes it's wood, parts painted red or black. I think it was around $20. I'd pass it on but my toddler's still using it.

Thanks, I have a catalog somewhere so I'll take a look before I venture over there. Red and black are fine with me.
