Ah, they are making their traditional November appearance (poor devils). Four fine specimens were just spotted cruising Claremont Ave.

(gobble)

I can't believe you said that.

You owe me (or someone) a drink.

Good one! Reloading, drinking, what a hoot.

Reminds me of neighbors who moved from Maplewood to San Antonio, and we waxed nostalgic about the deer problem here. They said, "Well, we have armadillos and we asked our garden center guys about a repellant and they said, 'Get your gun and shoot them.' "

Guess they couldn't pack their "Be About Peace" sign for sure.

(I prefer Mapleberry. And peace.)

Just saw the turkeys Monday on Woodhill Drive. Some really BIG ones at that. Told them we'd like to have them for Thanksgiving, but they ignored me and waddled away.

Bad time of the year for this guy.

"The bird chases cars," said Gregory. "It comes up to people and goes 'gobble gobble gobble.'"

the birds of Maplewood also lend new meaning to "Wild Turkey with a chaser"...they ran after someone I know who was walking nearby. The click click click of turkey feet on pavement was an eery sound at 630 in the morning.
