My grandparents recently unearthed an old audiocassette of me telling a story when I was a small child. Unfortunately, when they tried to rewind the tape, it snapped when it reached the end, probably due to its old age. The cassette body isn't the kind with screws, so it can't be disassembled and the tape reinserted into a new casing, but I am wondering if anyone knows of a service or person who would have the ability to somehow get the tape out of this cassette and safely into a new cassette. Or, perhaps the tape can be taken from the old case and put onto a reel-to-reel (if reel-to-reels exist that play tapes of regular audiocassette size) and dub it onto a CD or cassette. Any advice/help would be appreciated. |

..at one time Radio Shack sold repair kits. But I may be dating myself. If you carefully break open the tape you have, you can re-insert it into a new cassette (with screws). good luck -- Pete |
