We received a notice from the Post Office saying they will stop delivering our mail if we do not get a mail box. We have a slot, but it is covered by a screen door and may be too small. Any suggestions on what type of mail box to get and where to get it. Thanks. |

They have ones you can attach at your house available at Home Depot. Our neighbor put a basket out next to her door on the front porch which looks great. |

I just bought a new one from Restoration Hardware. We are basically gutting the entire first floor of the house - since we are living in dirt this one 'new' item made me giddy. It is brushed pewter, and I love it! They also sell mailboxes at Home Depot. |

The USPS has regulations about size and accessibility of mailboxes. They really aren't supposed to use baskets but I've noticed that Maplewood seems pretty lax and they look really nice. We got a box that hangs near the door and looks great but it's hard to stuff the catalogs in it, then it's hard for us to get all the mail out. Make sure you get one big enough for all your mail. I have used a basket in my vestibule since moving to my house - it's the same one my previous owners used. It's pretty and functional and my mailman has never had a word to say about it. |
