Can anyone recommend a place to have my daughter's hair cut in town? Nothing fancy, but I'm looking for something quick (reasonable waiting time for appointments if they are needed), and in town. Thanks! |

Larry's in Maplewood. No appointment needed. Go during the week if you can, Saturday can get busy. |

Another vote for Larry's. My son, three, loves to get his hair cut thanks to those folks.

I think Larry's is great for boys (quick, cheap, convenient, decent job), but I wouldn't take my daughter there for anything other than a trim of an already good haircut. |

OK, so where to get a decent girl's haircut locally? Anyone have experience with Larry's and girls' haircuts? |

Mood in Hair in So. Orange -- they're very good and I think (not sure) they do kids. |

Magical Scissors in the Millburn Mall. The woman does girls' haircuts; the man does the boys. It's also good for time-travel back to the '60s. They still have curlers on rolling carts and helmet-style hairdryers behind vinyl chairs with inset armrest ashtrays. But don't mention the nostalgia to the owner; he was clueless when I brought it up to him. |

how much do you want to pay? I take my daugther (she's 11) to Subway in Millburn (Jennifer). They really give a beautiful cut; however, it is $30.00. Not sure if you want to pay that much. |

I take my daughters to Kidz Kuts at the Livingston Mall. Usually $16 for each kid, sometimes a dollar more for longer hair. Never had to make an appointment. Caters to kids of all ages but has special toddler seats and VCRs for really young ones. |

I do use Kidz Kuts, but was hoping that for a simple page boy-type cut, if there were a comparatively inexpensive alternative in town. |

Supercuts on Springfield Ave in Short Hills. $9 or $10 I think. (my experience is with getting my son's hair cut there) Pete |

I take my 9-year-old to Anthony Garubo's twice a year and then I follow the cut in between. There are lots of haircutting instructions on the internet if you need help. The 4-year-old goes to Larry's and we've had good cuts. Nothing fancy, just a pageboy. The stylist remembers her name, blow-dries her hair and gives her a lolly at the end - worth every penny! |

Salon 4 Kids on Maple Ave in Summit (next to/associated with Salon 44). AWESOME and patient stylists. Cars and motorcycles to sit on. Videotapes to watch. Lollypops to lick. I think it is $15 for cut/bd and $5 just for bangs. FYI...Salon 44 is great for adults too... |
