who is looking to connect with other mom? I am putting together a weekly informal group to share everything from sleep deprivation to when was the last time you got out by yourself. New moms, 2nd time around Moms, and Dads are welcome. Bring your babies! If you are interested in getting out once a week to connect (spit up stained shirts allowed), email me at sax21@comcast.net |

Susan there is already a great group doing this called Mothers and More I think there is a meeting wed. night check out the bulletin. My wife joined a couple of weeks ago and seems to like it a lot. But that does not mean Maplewood does not have room for another group. Good luck! |

The problem Mothers and More is that they meet at night and my group is more geared for daytime. But Thanks for the suggestion |

Susan, FYI - Mothers and More sponsors many playgroups and activities during the daytimes (the evening meetings are for moms only generally). Here is the website for the group. http://www.maplesoorangemothers.org/ I'm back at work now but attended some of the new mothers coffees and got involved with a great informal playgroup. |

This informal group sounds great for new moms. Mothers and More is nearly $50 to join so not for everyone. |

Mothers & More has "scholarships" available if the money is an issue. Also, a lot of people go to the 3 activities/meetings that you are "allowed" to as a trial just to meet new people |

Hismom is correct, Mothers & More does have options for women who would like to join but for whom the membership fee is an issue. For those of you interested in knowing a bit more about our great group.... Mothers & More is a national organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy. We address mothers’ needs as individuals and members of society, and promote the value of all the work mothers do. The Maplewood/South Orange chapter has appx 190 members who span the whole spectrum of paid work and full-time caregiving. We have over 20 different activities for our members to participate in during the day and in the evening - book clubs, playgroups, Mom & Tot outings (our members know the best places to bring your kids!) an advocacy group, Mother-Owned-Business network, just to name a few. Our general meetings on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month cover a wide variety of topics - we often have speakers on various parenting and personal developement topics, as well as more open, relaxed conversations. Guests are allowed to attend 3 general meetings prior to joining. Anyone interested in finding out more information - call 877-907-2232 or email maplesoorangemothers@ureach.com
