I have lots of misc. computer stuff that I don't need but is still perfectly good. Any idea how I can get rid of it? I have 2 scanners (used once) 2 printers, one is really good (HP laserjet 2100) but it doesn't like my new Mac, so it's a big paperweight. A Brother HL-127ON printer that my Mac hates, tons of router cables...ugh! It's all clutter and I want it OUT! The Salvation Army doesn't want computer stuff, neither do the Viet Nam vets. I hate to throw it all out on bulk trash day because someone could use it - any ideas MOL-ers?

BTW - If anyone wants anything - it's free to a good home!

You can use the 2100M if you put it onto your ethernet network with a printer server. I use the HP JetDirect EX Plus. (Note: printer won't work on PCs)

Lydia

I'd be very interested in one of the scanners.

You can e-mail me at marc07041@yahoo.com

I tried it with an ethernet cable and it didn't work, I had a Mac friend of mine work on it several times and he gave up too.

I got a small color printer and it works fine. I really don't need the muscle of the HP printer anymore.

Hmmm...maybe you want it?

Some non-profit organizations may wish to receive donations of computer equipment.

I know that New Jersey Audubon has a wishlist of such items (probably on their website.)

If you can't give it away to a charitable org, I'd be happy to take anything off your hands. I can add them to my collection of random computer components sitting in my basement with even more random cables between them...

Woodstock, You and Mr. LL ought to get together and compare the components you have in your computer graveyards. Maybe between all of it you might be able to built a good ol' 386!

Hehe.. Since you seem to live just down the block from me, maybe we should set up a BAN (Block Area Network!) so we can share that massive IBM XT and AT computing power. I mean, who really needs more than 640k of memory, anyway?

Nancy, It's Ms. LL!

Woodstock - I may have found a good organization to donate the big printer, but the rest of the pile is yours! You can definitely build a computer from all this stuff, I have a PowerComputing hard drive thingy and old Apple screen that I turned up last night.

I'll privateline you later! Thanks!

I'll even throw in a heavy duty stapler left over from my husband's desk-top publishing days!

Lydia, No it is MR. LL. I wouldn't go up in the attic and/or down in my basement (it's everywhere!!) to wander through his junk for anything
