I hvae dining room set that I'm trying to get rid of before bulk day comes around. The breakfront is in good condition, the table's fair and the chairs are in poor condition. Anyone know of a charity that will come and pick it up? One I can give to as a donation?

I gave a lot of my late mother's furniture to the Salvation Army in NYC. They're very picky about what they will take. They only take stuff that's in good condition, and they examined everything before they took it. Goodwill told me that they don't do pick ups anymore.

I donated an old (but nice) tag-sale sofa to the place in West Orange (off Scotland Rd, the street right before the auction place) National Council of Jewish Women I think is the organization. I was pleasantly surprised when they appraised it and gave me a $4,000(!) tax deduction as well! Nice to deal with, just call (I don't have the phone number anymore, sorry) and set up a pick-up time.

Thank you Lydia. Found out the number to the National Council of Jewish Women is 973-673-3133.
