We are looking for an elementary school tutor to help our child with reading. We are looking for either individuals or programs. Any suggestions?

I can recommend two Maplewood friends of mine, both ex-teachers, who specialize in reading and do tutoring. Private line me and I'll see what I can do. One may be booked solid but I think one is accepting new clients.

Mrs. Nolan tutors elementary age students. She works at Clinton Elementary and had a masters as a reading specialist. She is wonderful with children and really knows her work.

I recommend JoAnn Smith. She has helped my youngest son in so many ways. He has been in Project Ahead for years and hated it. When he started going to Miss JoAnn, he started to enjoy reading and writing. She is very attuned to each student's needs. My son now wants to focus on the work that she gives him. On another point, she is very reasonable in her rates. Her number is 973 763 1175.

I know Katie James should be able to handle all of the above handily. She recently received her education degree. She has advertised her, and we use her happily. Her email is katejames@yahoo.com
