First time I'm tring to scan with the Mac and can't figure out how to......well.....scan. I've tried using the Mac help including within the "Image Capture" window. Cannot find the answer to the problem. I guess I can go to the Apple store but I know that someone out there can help! Thanks! |

The easiest way to avoid this problem of scanning with a mac is to switch to a PC

What software came with the scanner? Typically you should be able to go to your photo edit software (I use Photoshop) and import (aka aquire) from there. You shouldn't have to purchase additional software. |

What scanner, what OS? I'm assuming Jag or Panther. Have you used the scanner before? You may be left, as an only option for now, to use the app Silverfast, or VueScan. Go this Apple page (http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/scanners.html) for a list of compatible scanners with built in support for OS X, at the bottom of the page you will find links for Silverfast and VueScan (scanner utility software), also note that Apple provides links to those manufacturers listed, go to there site and search to make sure you have the latest drivers. If you still need assistance, send me an email and let me know. |

Is the scanner new? If so, I would start by contacting the tech support of the company that manufactured it first. |

I have a Mac OSX 10.2 and an Acer scanner (Acerscan 62ou) . I don't see it listed in the compatible lists. I've used it with the PC for quite some time and wanted to try and play with the images using Apple software. I think I may be out of luck...I'd really like to use the Apple. I'll try to contact the scanner manufacturer. Thanks again. |

I'm a virtual Luddite (sp?)and I can scan well! My IMac and Epson scanner and printer serves me well. I have even been printing up 35mm slides since nobody wants to see a slide show anymore. All the software needed was supplied. |
