<cough>

Welcome to the Games and Quizzes thread, a just-for-the-hell-of-it space where all are invited to play.

Please post your quiz or propose a game. No holds are barred, but if at all possible let's keep things out of the realm of Pointless Ugliness.

Here's something easy to start out with:

The following names have counterparts commonly known in the modern and/or English-speaking world. What are they?

1. Issa
2. Yevgeny
3. Musa
4. Shlomo
5. Mikhail
6. Giuseppe
7. Ishtar
8. Marduk
9. Ian
10. S'dom

Ten points for every correct answer; the more points you accumulate in this thread, the greater your claim to the sobriquet "Deeply Minded." Plus, at a predetermined time eventually to be announced, winners will receive all-expense-paid tours of this great country's finest meat-packing plants.

1, 2, 3...GO!

Cool links, Sports, but the Mastermind one doesn't seem to go anywhere after the link. (I think the emode IQ test must be skewed to easy answers because I scored 135 and I don't think that can possibly be right.)

70 points to Mem!

(I'll wait for others to play before coughing up the remaining answers.)

Ten points to Joan for Esther!

Numbers 8 and 10 are still up for grabs.

Your IQ score is 135

This number is the result of a formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on Emode's Ultimate IQ test. Your IQ score is scientifically accurate; to read more about the science behind our IQ test,

No offense but something's fishy.

I hope ms crohn didn't mean to imply that the test provided her with a score that was much too low.

"I hope ms crohn didn't mean to imply that the test provided her with a score that was much too low."

Well, I am rewriting Einstein's theory of general relativity as we speak, while crocheting a stunningly beautiful afghan with my toes.

"Man.. mine was only 129. I am sad and ashamed."

Peace of mind is reserved for the brilliant, you wretched sub-130. Fortunately, concern over your depressed mood is not required of those of us with the 135-point, "Visionary Philosopher"-level internet IQ.

Now, be a good chap and fetch me 1-2many's notes on string theory and Sportsnut's cosmological meditations on eternity. And some more candy-apple red acrylic yarn.

Mem-Toots is in the lead and should therefore post a quiz or game of her own.

And as a subgroup of the 135 Club, there can be a secret society of people who've taken the Emode Rorshach test in order to learn that "Your subconcious mind is driven by Imagination. You have a deep desire to use ideas to change the world around you."

Wow, yeah.

Me and my 135 IQ just had an idea: pass the salt.

Right now, my subconcious is imagining that if someone passes the salt, the world around me will have <i>changed</i>.

Answers to previous quiz:

Marduk = Mordechai
S'Dom = Sodom (as in wicked twin city to Gommorah)
