Can anyone recommend a woman pediatric dentist in our area? This would be the first dentist visit for my daughter and we know from a recent traumatic shoe store experience that a woman would probably be better for the first visit. Any suggestions?

Dr. Shari Summers in Livingston. Her practice is entirely women, entirely pediatric. I don't have the number offhand, but I remember that it ends with "5555".

A second vote for Shari Summers. My older daughter (7) has a really hard time going to the dentist and in fact threw up over herself and the dentist at the last visit. Shari was great with her, very calm, told jokes to cheer her up etc.
She has kids and is pretty realistic in her expectations re: brushing and flossing etc.

He's not a woman, but Dr. Justin Fried was excellent with my child. He saw us a few times in his office before he even looked in my childs mouth. He really took the time to gain his trust before trying to examine him. I highly reccommend him!

My family all goes to Dr Frieda Max in Millburn and love her. She is very good with the kids as are her staff. All women I believe. Her number is 973 218-9555. We also went to Dr Summers but her prices were a little high and she did not take our insurance.
