I’m thinking of going to see some of the floats for the Thanksgiving Day parade. I have to leave the city around 11:00 am. Does anyone have any tips on how I can pull this off? Can we just head up toward the museum and see them in the morning?

If you have Wednesday night free, you should go to Central Park and watch all the balloons being blown up, and the floats getting ready, less people, and fun

The parade is pretty early. We're going to watch probably around 52nd and Broadway. You could watch around there and then jump on the E train and go straight to Penn Station. Or watch somewhere around Columbus Circle. Anyway, Brett -- we'll be there. My son and I are coming home on the train after the parade too.

Whatever you do, don't stand on the "Park" side of CPW or you will never get out of there in time. Unfortunately, there's much better viewing opportunity from that side, but no good escape route.

Brett-- I second going on Wednesday night. It is a lot of fun watching the balloons getting blown up, and not crowded.
