Anyone see any good ones on their travels around various stores? Tins good for packaging cookies and other baked goods. Thanks in advance.

In case you can't find the tins, you can try using bakery-style white cardboard boxes - I found them at AC Moore (craft store) the past two years and they're very inexpensive. I get various sizes & line them with wax paper, tie with a holiday bow.

We found a good selection of tins last year at the Jersey Gardens Shopping Mall. I believe they were available at the Burlington Coat Factory store and a few others

Of all places, I found some really nice ones at Walmart (I generally avoid it but I was desparate). They had a few sizes.

Haven't seen them yet, but maybe Amazing Savings on Route 10 has some?

www.independentcan.com

fast shipments, good assortments of styles and sizes, wholesale so you'll probably have to buy 100 minimum. This way you can save the extra tins and they'll come packed in neat shipping boxes instead of plastic bags flopping all over the place.

Drug Fair sometimes has stuff like that also. Or try Party City.

There's a dollar store on Morris Avenue in Union that, for the past two years anyway, has a great selection of holiday tins, wraps, and accessories. Take Liberty Ave and make a left, it's about a block or two from Shop Rite, next to Blockbuster.

Last year we made cookies for everyone, and we bought plain silver gallon-size paint cans for everyone from Home Depot. We designed custom labels for the outsides using our color printer and rubber cement, and i bought some cellophane bags to line the insides at Odd Job in the city. Everyone *loved* the way it came out.

Even if you skip the label, you can tie a fat red ribbon around the outside or stick a big bow on top.

Papayagirl -

I LOVE that idea! I'm going to have to 'steal' it...

In the past I have bought a roll of window screen - yep the stuff that keeps the bugs out.
You can cut it into sqaures, and it is completely pliable. I put in some cellophane - bundle up the screen and tie it with a bow. They look like little silver Santa sacks.

I've got about 30+ white, quart size, chinese food take out boxes (brand new , of course) that I have left over from my wedding. I've also used them in the past for Cookies at Xmas time. Anyone else interested in them?

Thanks for the tips..I got nice tins at Target and Walmart (Walmart was a pretty amusing place this morning). I tried the independentcan website, saw some excellent choices, but their minimum order was 400 cans and well, thats about 385-390 too many. Thanks for the alternative ideas as well.
