Ok..so on my way to work this morning my car started smoking. I made it to work and popped the hood figuring there was an oil problem...To my surprise there were PRETZELS on my engine..Dozens of them!!!!! Along with pretzels there were small cylinder like droppings...I don't know who they belong to but I don't want this to happen again...Can anyone give me some suggestions or help!!! |

Your engine is a nice, warm, dry toasty place for little critters to hang out. Was your car sitting for a while undriven? My former sister in law lived in rural Vermont without a garage, she would put moth balls in a mesh sack under her hood (once the engine was cooled off) -- she believed this worked. (OTOH - she got 2 huge dogs about the same time, which could have scared anything off!) Good luck -- Pete |

I had squirrels two weeks ago. On the advice of many, I put mothballs in the driveway, around where the engine parks, those mothballs chunks in the car itself, tucked under the rug, and on the engine when I remember. It's not pretty, but it worked so far. |

A few years back I had my car in for a tune up. Received a call at work from the mechanic who asked me if I had a squirrel problem at home. Yes, I replied, as a matter of fact, I did. Why? He had found a pile of nuts in my carburetor!
