My kids found a dog today on the way home from school. I notified the Maplewood Police Dept and SO Dept. If anyone is missing a Muttish Large Terrierlike dog, Dark Grey and Black haired, male, very sweet - has a rainbow colored collar with no tags, please contact me. If this sounds like your neighbor's dog, please ask them if it is missing.

Okay, We have sheltered this adorable dog for 5 days now. I would love to find his family, because he is so sweet. I won't send him off to a facility/pound/shelter. Tomorrow, I will post 'Lost Dog' fliers in my 'hood. He is a very loving dog, and I feel that his family is missing him more than I am loving him...

Good luck! Will you be able to keep the pooch if the owner is not found? I am sure the kids are growing attached to him.

BINGO! Mystery (aka Scruffy) has been reunited to his family, gladly and sadly accepted by my family. Really sweet story, via Maplewood. One of our very close neighbors (high school student, columbia) was talking with another student. The unknown student mentioned that a neighbor was missing a dog, the known student mentionded that he had a neighbor(Us) who found a dog. Long story short, our found dog was reunited to his lost family, thankfully.
Now I am really missing that dawg...

Laura, The Jersey Animal Coalition has Plenty of other homeless dogs for adoption that would fill that hole in your heart. Go check them out, your kids (and you) will be glad you did.
