Does anyone out there have a recommendation for a family portrait of my extended family? We want to give a gift of such a portrait to my mother for her birthday and want to make an appointment/get a gift certificate sometime this week before her party on Sunday. Looking for high quality pictures and don't know who has a good reputation for such work. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Jesse Torrey, who sometimes advertises here, is great. She specializes in black and white. I know she mostly photographs kids (she did mine) but I bet she'll do whole families too. She told me she even puts dogs in the pictures. She can do inside or outside and does house calls. Very good. She's right here in Maplewood. Don't have her number handy....anyone else have it?

Jesse does both b/w and color. I've seen her work in both and its wonderful. (B/w may be her "thing", but I was terribly impressed with the color proofs I saw recently - only as opposed to having not seen her color work previously. (She did b/ws for me.) I also don't have her number handy - check the local white pages or privateline me and I'll dig it out.

We just had a Montclair phtographer (couple) do a large, extended family picture (including a squiggly, sometimes uncooperative two year old) for my mother-in-law's major milestone birthday. A joy to work with, but I need to see some proofs before I can endorse.

I think this is a great gift for those that have most everything!

A few months ago I had some family portraits done. They are absolutely beautiful. I am really delighted with the portraits and the photographer. They are a local couple: Krasner/Trebitz. They have a web site, I think it's www.KrasnerTrebitz.com and their phone # is 973.313.0792.
