My wife is looking for a new OB/GYN in the area. We are planning on trying to have children soon, so we'd want a doctor that does deliveries, as well.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you.

I'm very happy with my Doctor. I'm having a baby soon and I've been seen by Dr. Pollack & Seymour. They are both wonderful!

Love the docs at West Essex OB/GYN in Livingston. Huge fan of DeGraff and love Verdoni and Fein as well. I am having my second baby with them and cannot say enough good things about them. Very nurturing, spend plenty of time with you and incredibly supportive. They deliver at St. Barnabas which was key for us as we love their maternity and nursery facilities.

Good luck!

I really like Ann Marie Campbell, on Millburn Ave, next to Whole Foods. She's warm, funny and smart.

I use Dr. Maureen Whalen from Summit Medical Center in Short Hills. Only problem is the practice is large so you are never sure who will be on call to deliver. I was pretty happy with all of the doctors at SMC that I saw though, and 2 different drs delivered my 2 babies.

I second the recommendation for Dr. Campbell. She delivered my son last year and was great. She delivers at both St. Barnabas and Overlook - we went with Overlook and highly recommend it.

I'll second West Essex. Dr DeGraaf delivered my first and Dr. Fain my second (plus both my nephews). Dr DeGraaf is my favorite (and regular Dr) but I really like Dr Verdoni, too.

I had a bad experience (2 hr wait/insurance issues) w/Dr Campbell so switched to Dr. DeGraaf.

Hi, Ronzio. I'm in pretty much the same position as your wife, no kids yet but plan on starting soon-ish, and based on recommendations from this board I too chose Tammy Hamilton in Livingston (see post above for phone number).

I've only had occassion to visit her once so far but I'm very happy with my choice; I found her to be quite friendly and warm but also efficient and very competent. When my then-pregnant friend's obgyn wasn't working out this summer (ditto on the long waits) I recommended she switch to Dr. Hamilton, and I believe she was very pleased with the change.
