I recently moved to South Orange and I LOVE to swim. There is a great outdoors public pool in town but I would like to be able to swim all year long. I was wondering if anyone knew of a YMCA or YMHA that has a lap pool and other exercise facilities and/or classes (without a pricey membership that will not "break the bank"). Any suggestions and first hand experience would be well appreciated! By the way, I have found that the local S.O. YMCA is small and it seems they mainly cater to children's activities & daycare. |

The best kept secret around is the Union Boys and Girls club, it's on Jeannette Ave which is right off of Vauxhall Rd across from Lincoln Tech It's like $40.00 to join, great pool, and a great place for kids parties $160.00 for up to 16 kids, 2 hour, pool, gym, gameroom with pool tables, bumper pool, ping pong, air hockey, etc. Call them |
