WA: Mama mia A: Let's define envy, and synonyms begrudge and covet: These verbs mean to feel resentful or painful desire for another's advantages or possessions. Envy, the most general, combines discontent, resentment, and desire. Begrudge stresses ill will and reluctance to acknowledge another's right or claim: Why begrudge him his success? Covet stresses a secret or culpable longing for something to which one has no right: “We hate no people and covet no people's lands” (Wendell L. Willkie). I think people who envy another have short changed their opportunities in the past. Q: Is it not better to work cooperatively with neighboring towns for the mutual benefit of both? |

WA: Mean Mr. Mustard A: Not Christmas week - but a wonderful event: Sacred Heart Cathedral - Newark Tuesday, December 14, 2004, 8:00 P.M. (Doors open at 7:00 P.M.) The Thirty-fourth Annual Christmas Carol Sing A Christmas tradition for 34 consecutive years, the Carol Sing has become one of the most significant Christmas concerts in Northern New Jersey. The ambiance of candle light and seasonal décor, along with the Cathedral Choir, organ, brass, percussion and thousands of participants, combine to create an event that must be experienced. The event will be conducted by Cathedral Director of Music Ministries, John J. Miller. Along with the singing of traditional Christmas Carols, the concert will include choral selections from various countries world-wide. Q: What's your most treasured holiday tradition? |
