Every time I hear this commercial I keep reminding myself to find out who sings it and what it's called.

Have Love, Will Travel, by the Sonics. 1964

Haven't heard it. But I love the iPod (?) commercial with the country line dancers dancing to Hip-Hop.

My husband is a Land Rover nut (owns a Freelander) so I have to listen to it every time it comes across the Tivo. I like it but not enough to buy a gas guzzling Range Rover (the Freelander is bad enough).

My family cannot stop singing Picture Book from the HP commercials. Aside from being a cool commercial the song is very catchy.

Its sung by the Kinks.

This could be a whole thread unto itself. Catchy commercial jingles.

Sportnut - Do you know if it a Kinks song, or was it done for the commercial?

sports.
That's funny because my wife and I were saying just the same thing about the song and the commercial itself. I didn't realize it was the Kinks, but it doesn't surprise me. They are a group that doesn't get nearly enough credit for their body of work.

Woodstock - I think it was a song not done for the commercial.

that's an amazing comercial, and the tune is really catchy.

remember that horrible volvo tune, with the alp-esk yodel or some foreign yelping? It used to wake me up during the news.

I love the new jag commercial where the lady kisses her husband after seeing it

my husband was so sick of "i've got the world, on a string..."

CANNOT stop singing "Picture Book". After singing the first line over and over again, my husband finally downloaded the whole song for me, and I now listen to it daily!

Yes, it's a shame The Beatles got all the fame when The Kinks and The Stones clearly wrote much better songs.

uh oh, here come the flames....

Those HP commercials are so cool -- I keep asking myself "How do they do that?" I know, with CGI you can do anything, but the images in the spot are still fascinating.

Without the Beatles you wouldn't have a Kinks.

Baloney,
If anything without the Beatles the Kinks would have been much bigger. They were contemporaries.
Their first hit was "You Really Got Me" in 1964, the same year that the Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan.

The Young Fresh Fellows also covered Picture Book. (great band -- if you like Fountains of Wayne you'll love YFF. Don't know if they're still together though...)

What is that line-dancing/rap song from the ipod commercial? It gets me, um, jiggy, too.
