Dear Straw, Just six weeks ago, America spoke - loud and clear - and re-elected President George W. Bush. In just over five weeks, on January 20, 2005, the President will be sworn in at an Inaugural Celebration in Washington, DC. They say the Inaugural is a celebration of the President, but it is really a celebration of you and the work you did on the campaign to ensure the President's agenda moves forward. You're invited to join us at an Inaugural Party for the President, or to host one in your home. www.GOP.com/Party Those who hosted or attended a Party for the President through the campaign's website know how easy it is to open your home and invite your friends and neighbors to join you in a celebration of our President's re-election. For the next four years, we'll keep the Party going on www.GOP.com. If you have never hosted a Party for the President, it couldn't be easier. Just visit the Party for the President page, tell us when and where your party will be held, and we'll make sure you get everything you need - including a letter from the President thanking you for your Party and welcoming all of your guests. After all the hard work of the last year, you deserve to have some fun. What better way to celebrate the re-election for which you worked so hard than toasting with friends and family the swearing in of the President. Visit www.GOP.com/Party to get started. Thanks again for all you've done. Sincerely, Ed Gillipsie

According to the GOP website there are currently no parties planned for the Maplewood or South Orange Zip Codes. I guess all the Bushophiles aren't that enthusiastic |

Spending Inauguration Day with a bunch of Republicans sounds like anything BUT a party. |

Top 10 Reasons Santa-Claus is a Republican: 10. He's obsessed with other people's morals instead of his own. 9. He spends his organization's money like crazy on things he doesn't need. 8. He's so rich he has his own private aircraft with a private pilot named Rudolph. 7. He only cares about children of the majority religion. 6. He has taken endangered reindeer out of the wild to exploit them, and wears fur. 5. He uses unfair trade practices in dumping his foreign products on US children below cost. 4. He promises people will get what they want for nothing, and then the holiday is over and the bill comes due. 3. He has to be bribed (with milk and cookies) to do his job. 2. He owns a manufacturing facility, and takes all the credit for his staff's work. 1. He gives away petroleum products to evil people.

I'd venture to say a party of Republicans on Inauguration Day is much more fun than a group of liberals hardly distinguishable from the spoiled, rotting milk and whine being served. |

cjc..more and more do I think you need to see the Shaw Play I am doing in the city in Feb/Mar. Each post you make tells me you would actually benefit from the education the play would give you. The performances I cannot speak to, but the content...damn fine stuff |

Here's what every American who really loves their country ought to be doing on Inauguration Day. Turn Your Back On Bush (Duncan: any good choice quotes from the play you could post?)

I seriously considered participating in the "Turn Your Back On Bush" thing... but I decided that the guy is entitled to an unsullied inauguration ceremony -- even if I think he's a lousy president. I'm still not 100% convinced that he won "fair and square," but my doubts are small enough that I can just accept that he is gonna be The Man for another term. Better to focus on the issues, at this point. |

See the difference between a Livingston and a Notehead. One's a grown man (Notehead), the other a child (Livingston) |

Protesting is childish? Give me a break. Replying "boring" to all posts in which you disagree with, yet simply have no valid points, is childish. I'll be there. |

I wonder what the turnout will be... and if the media will actually show the crowds that turn their backs. You can bet that if the major networks don't show it (and I doubt they will), it will still be available online. |

I think the networks will show it if it materializes. They hate this president as much as the protesters do. |
