A giant in modern TV journalism.

temperate rhetoric?? A 'journalist' that presents both sides of the issue without passing judgement???

He's as much a journalist as Bill O'Reilly is. That the only place that would employ him is one that doesn't depend on commercial viability or an audience, instead relying upon subsidies, charity and a small following of losers is telling.

Yeah. it's telling. In a good way. And he's got more IQ in a fingernail than O'Reilly.

How many Emmys has O'Reilly received?

And an Emmy means his fellow travelers love him. And Janet Cooke won a Pulitzer. Ted Kaczinski was a fallen intellectual. And the point would be.....?

How do you know that "the only place that would employ him" is PBS?

He has been there as long as I remember, before he became more widely known thanks to the Power of Myth series with Joseph Campbell. What is telling is that he got a job, stayed at it, and is a great interviewer. IMHO. And what you know about the emmy's could also fit on Bill O'Reillys little fingernail.
But since you already think I'm clueless...oops sorry a loser (because I not only know who Bill Moyers is, but think he is great) then there is no conversation to be had.

His series on Death was eye-opening.(no pun intened) And The Power of Myth has helped me to understand more about the world and the source of its religions then anything I can think of.

But again I bow to your obviously superior intellect in knowing what job offers Moyers has had, how often he has tried to leave PBS and been shot down, and all the other specifics of the mans career choices.

The need to maintain commercial viability is the main reason why watching network news is a waste of time. It's more infotainment than journalism.
