Liberals are dumb? Statistics show that liberals are MUCH more educated than conservatives. The avg IQ's in Blue States dominate those of Red states. Studies have shown the higher the level of education one has, he's multiple times more likely to be a Democrat. Thanks for playing. The point was not that Bush is the next Hitler. The point is that while you are excitedly posting and almost giddy with the fact that "the American people" have chosen Bush as Time's Person of the year!... that is not an honor, when people as bad as Hitler have been chosen. Is that too complicated? You're a class act. Class act retard. |

Bush has a tough four years ahead of him. He is facing a revolt in the House from the more conservative members of his party, as the Inteligence Bill fiasco showed. In the Senate their are a number of Republicans who are probably not going to vote in lockstep with his agenda, especially on social issues. His victory last month was a product of a really brillant campaign run by Karl Rove and the fact that Kerry ran a God awful campaign and never established himself clearly on any major issues. I admire Bush because he sticks with his views, right or wrong. I think this also was one of the reasons he was reelected. The midterm elections should be very interesting.

I can agree with some of Bobkat's points to a degree. Nohero has been reduced to pretty much correcting typos. In other words if your spell check is out of sync, or you simply goofed on a word, you can count on Nohero. This pretty much comes as a result of the fact that he never gets anything right. He was wrong in 2000, he was wrong in 2004, he was even wrong during our local elections that sent Jerry and Vic packing. As a matter of fact I can't recall the last time Nohero was right about anything. He does post some cute pictures though. Can someone please post a time, any time that Nohero made a point about something that actually turned out to be true? Anyone? (excluding spelling checks!)

Dave, Our young friend Matthew seems to believe that he can personally attack other posters with name calling and not be punished. I'm sure calling someone else a "retard" on the playgrounds at Columbia is fine, but not here in the real world. "You're a class act. Class act retard." Dave, I do believe Matthew needs a time out. I thank you in advance. |

Indeed, "You're a class act. Class act retard." is not the level of discourse we're aiming for.

Southerner, isn't it though? Actually, it's less humorous for some of us because these people live right near by. You have the benefit of several hundred (if not thousand) miles between you and them. |

RR, Allow me to explain. If I call someone who follows a certain ideology a moron or someone who gets their nails done a sissy, I'm not making a personal attack. It's like when someone calls Bush dumb. That's an attack on all those who voted for him, but not a personal attack. Now If I were to call you a sissy, that would be a personal attack. These rules and more can be found in the rules section of MOL. |

I think Straw's bigger problem is that his schtick has become monotonous and, to use his favorite word, boring. He's a complete snooze-fest, as predictable as an episode of Scooby-Doo, with none of the humor. |

allow me to explain once again. If I call all liberals morons, this is not a personal attack. It's like saying anyone who likes green cars is a moron. Now, if I were to say hey John Doe, you're a moron because you like green cars, this would be a personal attack. clear? |

NO, not clear. You obviously take offense when someone makes a disparaging remark about Bush or Republicans or Conservatives...otherwise you wouldn't shoot back with your "mild" insults. If I am a Liberal and you call all Liberals morons, I take offense. You need a lesson in common courtesy. CLEAR? |

Bush may or may not be a war criminal, but his hombres are being tried as such. From OfficialWire NewsDesk: Rumsfeld, others are the problem, be part of the solution Call on the German Federal Prosecutor to investigate Rumsfeld and other U.S. Officials for war crimes at Abu Ghraib by OfficialWire NewsDesk NEW YORK, NY -- (OfficialWire) -- 12/19/04 -- The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) and four Iraqis who were tortured in U.S. custody filed a complaint on November 30, 2004 with the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office against high ranking United States civilian and military commanders over the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison and elsewhere in Iraq. The CCR is asking the German prosecutor to launch an investigation because the U.S. government is unwilling to open an independent investigation into the responsibility of these officials for war crimes and the U.S. has refused to join the International Criminal Court. CCR and the Iraqi victims brought this complaint to Germany as a court of last resort. Several of the defendants are stationed in Germany. The Pentagon and the U.S. government are taking this suit very seriously. According to the Deutsche Press Agency, Donald Rumsfeld has warned Germany that he will not attend an upcoming security conference in Munich if there is any indication of an investigation going forward, and Chief Pentagon Spokesman Larry Di Rita, calling the complaint "frivolous," said that he raised the case with the State Department: "State is engaged in this. Obviously, it's something that we're focused on and very concerned with…" Please encourage the German prosecutor not to bow to U.S. pressure. Defendants in the suit include Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld, former CIA Director George Tenet, Lt. General Ricardo S. Sanchez, Major-General Walter Wojdakowski, Brig.-General Janis Karpinski, Lt.-Colonel Jerry L. Phillabaum, Colonel Thomas M. Pappas, Lt.-Colonel Stephen L. Jordan, Major-General Geoffrey Miller, and Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Stephen Cambone. German law allows German courts to prosecute for killing, torture, cruel and inhumane treatment, forcible transfers and sexual coercion such as occurred at Abu Ghraib. The world has seen the photographs and read the leaked “torture memos” – we are doing what is necessary when other systems of justice have failed and seeking to hold officials up the chain of command responsible for the shameful abuses that occurred.

So because a couple of the left wing-nuts called Bush a war criminal, you feel that you are justified in calling all liberals idiots? That's like me condemning all conservatives because Strom Thurmond was in your corner. You are correct: it's a stupid connection. I don't equate anyone here with Thurmond; don't equate all liberals with their wackos. Every other word out of your mouth is 'boring,' 'idiot,' 'moron,' and on and on and on. If you actually cared about the President's policies and image you would spend more time making rational arguements in favor of them and gaining a little respect for it, instead of costing yourself respect every time you open your mouth. Heck, you might even win a few votes for your party. As it is, you just help cause threads like the one that asked, 'any intelligent conservatives on MOL?' Because there are, but all some people want to see is you mouthing off, much the same as there are many on your side who would rather shout about Michael Moore than listen to rational arguements from the left. You don't help anybody when all you do is insult and dismiss. This'll be the test. Will Straw continue to demonstrate discourtesy to himself, his political opponents, and his political allies? Or is this post boring? We report, you decide... |
