Isn't it time the Oracle of MOL got an updated picture? That one looks to be from the Rennisance. Even Ann Landers never used a picture that old.

Just wondering.

Opps here comes the lighting strike.

Happy New Year!

Thank you, Soda, for your hysterical sound effects, thank you nan for your fascinating pedagogical debates, thank you fringe for your compelling debate, thank you notehead for your rational views, thank you Nohero for your cogent statements, thank you sbenois for your incredible sense of humor, thank you Joan for being a lovely person, thank you Dave and James for letting me back on, thank you Tom Reingold for calming me down in cyberspace, thank you sportsnut for criticizing me so incisively, and same to Reflective, Rick B, and all the others who took issue with me. Good night and if I may, I'll "see you next year."

your buddy, tulip

..and thanks to so many who private lined me. I tried to answer you, but my answers got bounced back. Something in my lack of technological know-how, no doubt.

fun little countdown animation below, but I can't make it clickable, every time I try it messes with the code, so just copy and paste into your address bar and put http:// in front of it.

web.icq.com/friendship/swf/0,,16961_rs,00.swf

see what happens when I put the whole link in,
16961_rs%2C00.swf,http://web.icq.com/friendship/swf/0,,16961_rs,00.swf

"Sorry. Page not found." The whole link doesn't work with IE. Don't know about other browsers.

Cut and paste of your original link works just fine. Really cute New Years Greeting. Thanks for sharing it.

This software can't translate URLs that have commas in them. I suggest copy/pasting the first URL into your browser. Worked for me.

You can convert URLs to neat ones at http://tinyurl.com

Thank you, tulip. It was nice of you to say all that.

Thanks Tulip.

Re: responding to a PL, this may help:

You can't just hit the reply button when responding to a PL unless you want to response to go to Dave or Jamie who, due to volume, may not read it. Instead, scroll down beyond the message to instructions which tell you to cut and paste a link which when accessed will produce an e-mail screen addressed to the person who sent the PL.

Hope this helps.

Tom: You're welcome, and...I meant it.

Joan: I tried it, but where does it say to "cut and paste a link?" I'm hopeless with this stuff.

Tulip:

I just sent you a PL message. Scroll past the message portion until you come to the view sender's profile link. Click on it and it should take you to my profile page. If nothing happens, highlight the link, copy it, and paste it in the address portion of you browser window and press "go".

At the bottom of my profile window, you will see text asking if you want to send this user a message (or words to that effect). Click (or copy/paste) on that text.

An e-mail window should open.

Enter a brief test message and hit send.

I'll let you know if I receive the message.

If you still have a problem, post it here and I will try to help you further.
