Well folks, Bernardsville has decided to widen parking spots in their town to accomodate SUVs. Any chance this could happen here? Any thoughts on this happening here? I drive a Honda Civic so you can guess how I might feel about it. As mentioned in the article linked below, this could hurt businesses by reducing either the amount of parking in their lots or the size of the establishment in order to have the necessary amount of parking spots. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=710&e=2&u=/usatoday/20050103/pl_ usatoday/parkingspacesstretchtofitfatrides |

Why bother? Just let SUV drivers continue to take up the two spots they are clearly entitled to. (SUVs with "Support the Troops" magnets are entitled to a third spot or, failing that, to park on the sidewalk). |

I never have a problem fitting my SUV in a single spot...even with a "Support Our Troops" magnet. |

Government needs to do more to promote energy efficiency. Make large metered spots for $1/hr and small ones for $0.25/hr. Or make the large ones father away from stores so people have to spend more personal energy to get there. |

Even my Accord barely fits into a parking spot at the train station (town side). |

Probably because there's an SUV on either side.
