The NY Waterway ferry from Hoboken South to Wall St. is part of my daily commute. I am wondering if it is foolish to buy a January monthly pass given the financial uncertainty of NY Waterway. I've been able to find very little info (see below). Does anyone have any more info? "A deal between NY Waterway and a group of investors led by New York lawyer William Wachtel preserves two ferry routes between Hudson County, New Jersey and New York City, slated to be discontinued after Dec. 31st. According to the terms of Wachtel's proposal, the group would take over the routes to Lower Manhattan from the Hoboken Terminal and three piers in Jersey City: Colgate, Liberty Harbor and Port Liberté. The proposal also calls for Wachtel's group to buy 16 of NY Waterway's ferries. The Port Authority was involved in the negotiations." source: http://www.midhudsonnews.com/News/HavFerry-25Dec04.htm |

davel: My husband takes that ferry most mornings. According to him, the route remains in service until further notice. Only, problem: he is not too sure how long "until further notice" will be. |
