I have no clue where this question fits, so here goes: How do I get info on the Maplewood Junior Women's Club and is there a similar club in South Orange?

Never heard of that, but I a former member of the Junior League (had to resign due to time issues), which is all women. Is that what you mean? In that case, Maplewood residents would be part of the Junior League of the Oranges & Short Hills (we fall into that "service area," as they call it).

If you PL me with your name and phone number, I'll send it on to the Junior Woman's Club president, who will surely call you back.

For the past two years I've organized a community-wide book drive to benefit our elementary classroom libraries, book exchanges and to give to kids for summer reading (start collecting your books for this year's drive in March!) -- the Juniors have been partners in this project since we started, and are an energetic, dedicated group of women. Without their help, we wouldn't have gotten out over 10,000 books last year!

It is called the Maplewood Junior Women's Club. I saw their notice on Maplewood Online and wanted to find out more about their organization (when they meet etc). I live in South Orange, but think my town is also covered by their group. Here's the ad:

Tsunami Relief
The Maplewood JR Women's Club is collecting NEW undergarments, all sizes, male and female including children. Drop off at the Clerk's Office at Maplewood Town Hall during regular business hours.

Everything I've read about relief needs has said they don't want donations of stuff. The logistics of transport are just too complicated. They want money. (Heck the underwear probably comes from India or China anyway.)

Newtoallthis

I did forward your info -- and also the request from Cleo -- on to the club president (and sent you a PL to confirm.)
