If you're a person who likes to knit, crochet, cross-stitch or do any other kind of hand work with needle and thread, you're invited to the Nifty Needlers meeting tomorrow night. This small, friendly group of needlers will meet at the Hilton Branch Library from 7:30-9pm, Monday, January 10. Bring your own project to work on and show.

Since January is a long month and February a short one, our next meeting date is January 29. This meeting will be a special field trip to Knit & Stitch in downtown Maplewood. Call me if you have any questions about these, but everyone is welcome, male or female, as long as they do handwork. Becky, 973-762-1688

The address is 1688 Springfeild Avenue, but don't come in the front. From the back: Go up Tuscan Road away from Valley Street. It's the last building on your right before you hit Springfield Avenue. Turn right into the parking lot and come in the back door. Parking lot is well-lit. Don't come too early, I go to dinner until 7pm. Becky

Rebecca: Don't forget about those I-Pod Mittens!

BTW: If you missed my short-lived thread on the subject, just do a quick search for "nit from a pearl"...

This clearly qualifies as bigtime thread drift, but I couldn't resist. According to my favorite strawberry blonde webslut, Wonkette (www.wonkette.com), "the president has an iPod! Officially bottom of the fashion cycle now. But we can't help but wonder: Is his playlist as ambitious as his foreign policy? We have some recommendations:
"Brilliant Mistake," Elvis Costello
"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," U2
"Search and Destroy" By Iggy And The Stooges
"Oops I Did It Again," Britney Spears
"Party At Ground Zero," Fishbone
"Give Me Another Chance," Big Star
"If I Ruled The World," Nas
"Long Distance Drunk," Modest Mouse
"Kill The Poor," Dead Kennedys
"World Of Fantasy," The Five Stairsteps
"My Favorite Mistake," Sheryl Crow
"Nice Work If You Can Get It," Ella Fitzgerald
"I Looked All Over Town," Magnetic Fields
"May The Man Who Has His Finger On The Button Have A Lovely Day Today," Bobby Bare
"Ballad Of The Big Nothing," Elliot Smith
"I've Got The World On A String," Erroll Gardener
"Rock The Casbah," The Clash
"Everybody Wants To Rule The World," Tears For Fears
"I Started Something I Couldn't Finish," The Smiths
"Sitting On Top Of The World," Howlin Wolf
"Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta," The Geto Boys
"The Fightin' Side Of Me" Merle Haggard
"Let The Idiot Speak," Old 97's"

Care to add any apt titles???

-s.

BTW: Sorry, all you knitters...
