OK gang, here we go again! Another "one of those days" for Jack Bauer. What do you think so far? What do you think will happen tonight? Could the new head of CTU be any more incompetant? How do you fire a guy who has saved the world three times? How do you like having Chloe as the only person there with half a brain? Strap yourselves in, the network promises a new episode every week and no interruptions! |

I PROMISED myself that I wouldn't start watching 24 again (I think they should quit while they're ahead and how many times can the same man save the world...), but there I was -- once again watching the new season. The new head of CTU used to be in La Femme Nakita (yes, I actually used to watch that show), so I keep thinking of her old character (she was also head of the secretive government agency like CTU). I only watched the first hour though of last night's premiere (had to switch to the Carnivale premiere on HBO at 9:00), but so far it's ok - I guess I'm hooked for yet another season... |

Hoo boy. Jack needs to stall a guy for ten minutes so he knocks over a gas station, LOL. This might even be sillier than the prison riot he started last year. |

Being a programmer, my favorite things are the techie things. How can it take 20 min to "reposition the satellite" and 2 seconds to download the satellite feed to Jack's PDA? It takes me 5 min to get my email on my cell phone. Last year they were able to download the faces of a bunch of suspects to a cell in the same amount of time. And couldn't he have just shot out/punctured the tires in the guy's car? And Chloe's guilty looks are just too much. Anyone could tell you that when you are doing something you shouldn't on your computer at work (oh, like typing a message on a bulletin board) you have to appear like you are doing important work and have a spreadsheet ready to pop up just in case the boss comes by. |

Wendyn that is so funny you said that about the tire. That is what my husband was saying, flatten the hostile's tire.... or hold up the store, and drive the getaway car that is all over the police scanners. |

no, no, no ... Jack needs the hostile to lead him to the Secretary of Defense! He can't shoot out the tire. This is my first time watching -- go easy on me. |

"The Hostile". I love it. And the fact that Jack has saved the world 3 times but they fire him and don't listen to his advice. And the fact that Chloe is the smartest person at CTU at the moment. Yet I'm still watching... |

If Jack had flattened the guy's tire, I guess he'd have carjacked another car before the satellite was ready. But driving around in the getaway car? And taking his ski mask off? WTF Jack!! And where do they get these cell phones that never need recharging even though they're on them all day? |

I thought it was pretty funny that Jack was surprised that 10 minutes after he kidnapped the "hostile" and held a gun to his head and drove away in the car that the police saw them both in that he encountered a road block. What did he think, they were just going to fuggetaboutit? |

And then the new head Driscoll said "It'll take days to go through the phone records." Um, WHY? that's just SILLY! But the whole darn show is silly. and they get me every time.... |

Absolutely ridiculous and I'm absolutely hooked for another season. They do it with making great evil characters like the mom who poisoned the girlfriend. How evil is she??!! |

Driscoll has got to be in on the plot. It's the only explanation for her steady stream of bad judgment calls. The staff at CTU this year looks like they just went outside and pulled people in off the street. And that new person -- the ex-girlfriend -- did they feel they needed to replace Sherry with a new Evil Black Woman? Of course I'm hooked too, ridiculous as the show is. |

Okay guys, "the hostile" could change the flat tire???? That would take him anywhere from five to thirty minutes depending on how quick he was. Chloe told Jack originally she only needed five minutes to get the satellite in position. |

If you were the hostile and someone shot out your tire would you lead them to the Secretary of Defense? No. You'd know they were on to you. |

Not to harp, but can't help it, you could let the air out of the tire, put a nail in front of it so it "blows out" no reason to shoot it!! |

How was Jack going to get nails in the road -- helecopter fly-over? When in doubt, stage a hold-up. |

I want to know why he carries a ski mask and black duffle bag in his FORD truck. Anyone notice a lot of people drive FORDS on the show? |

The Ford Motor Company has done that for decades. Watch any of the old Quinn Martin shows (Barnaby Jones, Streets of SF, etc.) Everybody drove Fords. The "hostile" had a Lexus though. At least Jack didn't reach into the trunk and pull out an anvil with the word ACME on it. |

Whatever happened to the other Intelligence Agencies? Is CTU the only one in town? The puerile bureaucratic tussles within the org are getting to me and enough already about the Director's daughter's schizoiphrenia, as if the narrative is not complex enough!!! I think this show will only reinforce the stereotypes of Arabs and Muslims living in the US as "terrorists" and "sleeper cells" and that's a problem..... |

I wasn't going to watch again this season but I'm already hooked. So far I've only watched three episodes (watching #4 tonight), butI miss Tony & Michelle and the old President - do they say what they're up to? (Did I miss it?). I DO NOT miss Kim, she was irritating. And I think Chloe looks good with a tan. Just my 2 cents so far. |

Mustt, I've heard we should make any Arab/Muslim assumptions...we have no idea who the "real" bad guys are. I miss Tony & Michelle, mainly because the rest of the staff seems incompetent. I had had enough of Palmer and am glad to see a new pres though. Supposedly all of these folks (Kim included) might be in some episodes later in the "day". |

If Jack had shot out the tire, he wouldn't have been able to get the hostile's (I love that) ID and cell phone. Taking the mask off? Can't figure that one out other than a future encounter between JAck and the hostile. Also, did anyone note that the hostile was being tracked as heading for Valencia which just happens to be where JAck's daughter and what's-his-name were mentioned to have set up house? FF |

So I guess that means we can once again look forward to Kim Bauer being taken hostage at least once this year.

jeffl - There are also plot recaps for 24, Lost, the Sopranos and other shows on televisionwithoutpity.com. They are pretty funny most of the time. |

I am seriously hoping that Kim makes a quick guest appearance to be found dead at the bottom of a well, or perhaps tossed out of a plane. That would give me a fine feeling of closure. I was pretty sure the iced tea was poisoned, honest! One question now is whether the boy will end up helping Jack or getting killed by his own parents - or both. |
