the divide is not blue vs. red in this country. It's people who are laughing their asses off at that outfit vs. people who are thinking, "man, where do I get one of those hats and a pair of them boots?"

Hey lay off DUMBYA !!!!. First it's the little flight suit with the thumbs up salute (MISSION ACCOMPLISHED) and now it's the Cowboy/Truman Capote ensemble. He's single-handedly making playing "dress Up" safe for grown ups.

I finally agree with Guy. DUMBYA can't really play cowboy but he can play someone impersonating an actor playing a cowboy.

When you've lost two straight elections to the same guy, what's left for the supporters of the losers to do but post pictures along with inane commentary?

If the picture of the President looks like John Wayne to you, that reminds me of a line in "The Birdcage", when Robin Williams is trying to teach Nathan Lane how to walk "straight":

Albert: No good?
Armand: Actually, it's perfect. I just never realized John Wayne walked like that.

Maybe cons would be happier comparing him to The Blues Brothers (could not load pic--kept coming up as bitmap and not jpeg, but I am sure someone will help out).

Mark-Thats blasphemy but I could imagine what kind of character assasination Akroyd and Belushi would do to this administration.

Overtaxed-Speak to Straw, it's over 12 years since Clinton beat Dumbya's Pappy and he's still posting pictures and inane commentary.

Guy-Rah Rah Rah
(As Rodney D used to say, "Now I know why some animals eat their young").

He's awesome. I like his war the best, and I like the way he doesn't use "fuzzy math" second best. I like the fact that he's a uniter, not a divider, and I love his fiscal restraint. Mark my words - history will make note of this man as a epoch-defining figure.

GWB and The Duke; both Great Americans.

And they've got more in common than an eye for fashion. Both tough guys fought like hell to stay out of the active military:

I bet many of today's boosters will change the subject when their kids ask if they voted for him.

"well, that was a long time ago when I was much younger... he seemed, so...certain of himself aned I was so frightened and angry...let's go out for icecream!"

I liked the Duke (as an actor, not fond of his politics) but he was certainly no Audie Murphy.

And Madden you're partially wrong. Yes DUKE and DUMBYA avoided going to war but DUMBYA a tough guy ?. Now THATS funny.

Surprised no one mentioned an obvious tie-in with The Blues Brothers--a preference for nose candy back in the good old days of intemperance.

Total thread drift--heard a GREAT interview with Akroyd the other day where he said that he was a Tourette's kid (tics and groans) and borderline Aspergers. He is a very thoughtful and well-spoken guy.

Really? I didn't think Asperger's was even really known about in the 50s and 60s. That's very interesting. I can see the Tourette's - it could have forced him to develop a great sense of humor and quick one-liners to make the outbursts funny and socially acceptable.

Guy , great picture. You are right W and the Duke are two great Americans. Madden other sources say the Duke was kept out of the military because of health reasons.

Debby: I think he was referring to the fact that he now would be termed Aspergers, but as a kid was simply not very sociable.

Mark - I wonder if he has an ASD kid. I think quite a few adults who are diagnosed as such get the diagnosis when they are going through family history as part of their disordered child's dev. workup.
