Dave... thats the regular muvico theatres whose ticket prices are equal to any other theatre. Those seats are still better than any other theatre I've been to. The Loews on 22 is a craphole in comparison. The screen looks small in the pic, but believe me, they are huge.

The premiere level is different, in FL only 6 of 20 screens have premiere level balconies. The seats are big loveseats with side tables to put your stuff on. They're like couches. Plus you get valet, popcorn, drinks, and childcare with the admission. Well worth it. Also since the seating is reserved, you can order food and drink from the cafe, tell them your seat number, and they bring it to you. Its designed so well, that you feel like you're the only 2 people in the theatre. It really is amazing, and to me, worth double what they charge (which will probably the price here in good ole NJ).

Muvico sounds like an interesting concept, but I'm not moving to FL for valet parking at the movies. or friendly Home Depot clerks. or for the right to pump my own gas.

"The reason old money doesn't want to mingle with new money is that they feel inferior."

Actually, old money is conservative in their spending and would never discuss or boast about their finances. They don't mingle with new money because a)they consider much of what new money does frivilous and therefore don't find themselves in the same circles and b) they find flaunting obnoxious.

MJ you have an '01 986? It isn't the one that is green with a silver hood is it? Not quite sure that one is an "S" though.

Where do you have it serviced?

As for living in NJ - Not crazy about it, but for now it suffices. Can't stand the pretentious people in this area (though there are fewer in MW/SO than in surrounding towns). Hate the traffic, the me first attitudes, lousy customer service, lack of property, taxes, taxes, taxes, neighbors to the east.

Things I like about NJ - select parts are really nice, Cape May, easy commute to the city for the price, lots of employment opportunities. I really like parts of Morris county and would live there in a second if I felt like using all of my earnings for housing.

Is it just me, or was that a pretty quick jump from swapping Porsche stories to complaining about other people's pretension?

Alg,

You gotta understand... I HATE going to the movies. My wife drags me kicking and screaming. I'd rather use my home theatre... HD looks better anyway.

Muvico is a different story.

Its like your living room, but with a screen the size of a drive in's and waiter service.

Its the way going to the movies should always be. It is a real experience.

I also HATE going to the movies. If I go, it's the earliest show of the day and it's all by myself.

Even when its sold out, its like you're all alone in the place.

Dave,

They do indeed.

But the way the seats are designed and the way the sound system fires, you can't hear anyone around you unless they are talking REALLY loudly. The seats are about six inches higher than your head (well my head others may vary) curved, and acoustically padded. Plus they are pretty far from another seat. I've been amazed that when a waiter brings in food to someone behind me, sets up the table, and thanks them, you only notice if you are looking for it.

The ushers will Shush loud talkers or even escort them out. My brother saw them do it once. I don't know how well they'll enforce it in Jersey though. This is the Premeire level I'm talking about... I don't know how strict they are in the main level. Also no one under 21 is allowed in the premiere level so it helps keep out the loud kids.

I'm praying it'll be the same.

I did see them remove someone with a laser pointer from the regular theatre. The ushers have night vision scopes to find tapers and laser pointers.
