I waited half an hour for a "technician" who assessed I needed a serviceman (for the fourth time) for our basement tv because we can't get a signal. And they were just out here last month to fix the same problem!

I was transferred to service and got disconnected. You'd think they would consider calling me back since they confirmed my phone number or at least told me the extension number to make it a little easier than having to wait another thirty minutes to go through the same bother with another "technician."

My wife ended up emailing them our issue -- which will take days for them to respond.

Is Comcast's CS as bad as this?

I have DirecTV and have found their customer service to be very good (especially compared to cable).

I've had Direct TV for over a year now, and never had problems with customer service. I had a problem with reception on one of two receivers, and they were quite helpful and talked me through troubleshooting. Turned out I was able to fix the problem myself - it was a faulty connector on the cable (not properly crimped). Once I fixed it, worked great.

Does DirecTV offer internet access?

They do have internet access but it's very pricey. I think the hardware investment is in the $600 range. Then like $60 a month

I think they offer it through a company called Direcway. It is expensive.
