I'm definitely over-paying for dry cleaning in Maplewood. $1.50 for shirts, $5.20 for a linen shirt, $5.50 for sweaters, $4.00 for a pair of pants! It's outrageous! Can anyone suggest a less expensive alternative? |

Where in Maplewood do you go now? I find Linda's to be much less expensive then Gleasons.... |

Fells Cleaners on Ridgewood Rd. near St Lawrence at the northern edge of Maplewood very near SO in that little commercial section with a pizza store and a few consignment shops and a new framing shop. But I don't want to keep paying these prices. |

THANKS for the tip, Diva. I've driven past there on my way to Costco, I guess. Does that fee aply to laundering shirts (medium starch/hangers)? And is the quality good? It's a bit out of the way (I walk to the dry cleaner today) but if I can save on the costs, mayhaps I'll give it a try. |

If its the place I am thinking of it is on 22 west, pretty far out, not near Costco. |

It's not too far from Costco, but yes, it is out of the way. But it works OK for me because I don't do weekly dry cleaning - I save mine up for several weeks and then drop off 15-20 pieces at a time. T, I think all they do is dry cleaning, so it might be worth it to stick with your $1.50 place for the shirts. As for the quality, I've been happy with them thus far. My husband had to have them re-do a shirt once because a stain was still on it, and they did it, no questions asked, no charge. Keep in mind that this place does a huge amount of bulk dry-cleaning daily. If you have a really tough stain on something or a very delicate or special item that needs extra care, this is NOT the place for it. But otherwise, it's is a god-send! They're opne until 7:00 every night, closed on Sunday, and be fore-warned, the line is sometimes out the door. |

Diego, I will certainly give it a try. I'm an early morning person so I'd likely get there early on Saturdays and perhaps beat the rush. Thank you for all that great information. You've answered all my "issues" and more. |

Pretty sure all 3 places in South Orange only charge 99 cents for shirts. My place on SOA definitely does. |
