I like it... any thoughts? Its edgy, good characters, and so far, interesting plots. It may jump the shark this week with Richard Hatch taking a role. I'm hoping it has staying power. |

So far, so good. It sure beats the hell out of the 70's version with Lorne Greene. |

I saw the tv movie when it first aired awhile ago and loved it. I saw previews for the series but unfortunately missed the first episode. When exactly does it air? |

Friday's at 10. Yes, I remember Galactica '80. Awful. And I love sci-fi. This new one is a lot better, and Edward James Olmos is always a pleasure to watch. Check out http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/ for some information. |

Is Gallactica '80 when they had those amazing motorcycles and flew around an earth like planet? Yeah, I know it was lame, but hell, I was 7, and I thought it was awesome. |

I'm not a fan of this new Battlestar Galactica.. something just doesn't fit for me. I liked the old show... yea, it was cheesy, but I liked it. |

I was a big fan of the 70's series as cheesey as it was. I saw the mini series on SciFi last year - too dark and disturbing. |

I wanted to have a dog and feed it Alpo, just because Lorne Greene said I should. |

Speaking of cheesy shows.. does anyone remember the 70s show "Space 1999" staring Barbara Bain & Martin Landau? Funny what they thought life might be like. |

I kind of like it because its dark. Its a story of refugees running from a genocidal enemy. The old series never really entertained that theme, even though it was based on the same thing. I loved the old series back then (mainly for the special effects), cheese and all, but I really like this one for the characters and plot (so far). I also really like how the characters all have real names and the nicknames like Starbuck and Apollo are their callsigns. Very cool way to integrate old and new. Speaking of Lorne Greene, what was the name of the show where he was a fire chief, and the kid from 8 is enough was the "cute kid". Was it Code Red or something like that? |

Now wait just a centon... that was either Code Red or Emergency!. Wasn't Starbuck in Emergency? I vaguely remember Space 1999 -- I was so young when it was on that it seemed terribly serious and dramatic. I vaguely remember one episode where the ship passed through some weird part of space and suddenly everyone was really old. Man, that was intense. I'd love to watch it now and see if it still seems worthwhile. |

Lorne Green - Adama - was in Code Red Richard Hatch - Apollo - replaced Michael Douglas in the Streets of San Francisco and guested on a number of shows. Dirk Benedict - Starbuck - was in The A Team I think the guy you're referring to being in Emergency is Randolph Mantooth - he sort of resembles Richard Hatch - although Hatch is much prettier. |

Actually - I think Dirk Benedict was a guest star on Emergency - as was Nick Nolte, Mark Harmon, Ruth Buzzi, the guys from Adam 12, and many 'B' stars from the 70's. It was our family saturday night show growing up. As for Randolph Mantooth loosing to Richard Hatch - I had a crush on both - buth Randolph wins. (I need a life...) |

Joy - I said Hatch was prettier...doesn't mean he wins... I much prefered Randolph too. (I can't believe I just said that ) |

I guess you're right - Hatch was the prettier of the two. I just though Mantooth was cutier. I really do need a life - I ACTUALLY wrote some fan fiction for an Emergency web site...now, I can't believe I just admited that! |
