From the Village Voice:

It’s Bush’s party and you can cry if you want to. Or you can crash it. True to the left’s polymorphic ethos, there are plenty of ways to rain on the president's parade, from anarchists hoping to reprise their egg-throwing assault on his limo in 2001 to more liberal-minded folk who are calling on people to simply "Turn Your Back on Bush" in silent indignation.

What a logistical mess. No wonder why Kerry lost.

Are the Thousand Coffins going to be used to bury the people who participate in the Die In? Just wondering how it all fits together.

It looks like a lot of people don't have enough to do at work or work at all. Must be nice. I'm at least going to try and get a work out in so if anyone wants to join me I'm going to call it the "Southerner protest against an unfit life". Please stop by your nearest gym or simply go for a walk or jog. It sure beats standing out in the cold.

um... DC is below the Mason-Dixon line, too.

So which protest in Washington are you going to, Robert? Or are you going to deprive local merchants of your money tomorrow?

It appears that the New Yorkers are generally accepting the inevitable, and throwing some gigantic parties to help deal with it. That kind of attitude is one more thing I love about living here.

Protesting tomorrow is pointless. I'm just going to ignore the whole thing.

There will be plenty of constructive opportunities to oppose Bush over the next four years.

I dunno, Doc. I don't think it's completely pointless. If the protests are large enough and interesting enough (like the 10,000 Jesuses), they might get some media coverage, and it could be a positive thing for the rest of the world to see that we don't all blindly support Dubya. Also, it gives people who are still upset a chance to vent, and the groups that get a good turnout will be encouraged to do some productive stuff down the road.

It gives Michael Moore more caustic images for his next film.

maybe notehead,
but if any protests got news coverage, it would only be on Fox, which would of course choose to show only the freakiest looking protestors to use as examples of the "wackos" who oppose Bush.

We also have watermelon festivals and Miss Pecan pageants. That keeps us plenty busy for an entire month. The rest of the time we just try to stay inside the rich folks house because their air conditioning works.
