Guys who wear those pleated baggy pants up to their boobs. That always gives me the willies. |

What is with the newish trend of men in business casual places to wear olive green (usually pleated) chinos with light blue/denim-y shirts? Did someone tell these guys that this outfit works or matches in some way? |

wendyn, blue chambray is a neutral. it works with everything just like denim does. olive green chinos with blue chambray is not even remotely new. i was wearing that combo in the early 80's when my nickname was TPO (too prepped out). |

Advertisements and/or big logos on clothes. I don't know if that qualifies as a faux pas, but it does annoy me. Believe it or not, your jacket is not even slightly nicer with a giant Nike "whoosh" on it. Nor is your handbag even the tiniest bit more impressive with a Dolce & Gabbana logo. And why on earth would you wear a shirt featuring an ad for a casino, contractor, restaurant, etc., that you don't have a particular desire to promote? |

Alg - I just checked my bag and the coach tag was there! Haven't paid attention since I bought the damn thing. I can't be bothered to break my fingers trying to get it off - you're welcome to do it. By the way - I ran over this bag by accident (left it on the hood )- and it's fine... |

Notehead and Algebra - I'm totally with you on advertising -- why should I pay to be a walking billboard? At least give me the stuff for free. But then I get overly against shilling -- I bought a shirt at the thrift store that is sooo comfy and I just love it, but it has the brand all over the front, so I won't wear it out of the house, and then I think I'm being silly. Not just Coach tags - any brand that's plastered all over the outside translates to cheap-o product and over-priced. That's why the knock-offs are so successful. A really well-made bag isn't easy to replicate, but a bag with initials all over it is. It's so Minnie Pearl! But at least she got the irony... |

I guess I'm just Minnie Pearl, with a bag that cost me three hours salary, and absolutely no energy to care about a stupid little tag, much less try and pry it off with my exhausted little fingers. Oh the humanity.

hiphugger jeans.. The makers of these clothes for girls under 14 are flat out perverts. Those for whom these jeans are age appropriate need to know... They are not flattering! They seem to flatten out a nice, shapely posterior. } |

Right you are Soda. I see that too often in nice restaurants. In fact sometimes I see it in church. |

The coach tag thing just reminded me of another one -- people who leave their day/weekend ski passes attached to their jackets and build up a stockpile of them attached to their zipper by the end of the season. If the pass has expired, REMOVE IT!! Keeping the tags on your jacket doesn't tell others you have an exciting lifestyle, it tells people you're pretentious and you want people to know how often you ski and think you have a particular lifestyle (that you probably only wish you had...) |

I'm going to get into serious trouble for this one, but here goes. . . My wife Cindy once went to a haloween party dressed as 'Chris before he met Cindy'. Lime green courduroy flood pants, plaid shirt, brown belt, white socks, black shoes, and FBI style plaid jacket. She was the life of the party. Personally, I still do not know what was so funny. |

What about the people who leave the "100% wool" label on the sleeve of the coats/suits jackets?? Why would you think those are not supposed to be snipped off???? They are the equivalent of a price tag. |

eliz, I was just gonna post that. It mystifies me, utterly (along with logo wear, tags on purses). It's like that "X" of thread they use to keep the back kick pleat together until you buy the coat! Also, men in business suits wearing baseball caps and using a backpack in lieu of a briefcase. Grow up awreddy...Men in 2 earrings (one I can sorta get)... And, does anyone make shirts besides the little polo guy? In my office, where we are business casual, seems like evey man wears those shirts and nothing but. I'm talking the button downed ones, not the "polo" shirts... Just feeling snotty at prospect of shovelling tomorrow.... |
