Im going (which may be a disincentive for some who are on the fence about going) with my wife and some friends from outside the Maplewood-South Orange borders. Your TV choices for Saturday night if you decide to stay in...E! True Hollywood Story..probably about Shecky Greene. Trading Spaces...again. The Golden Globes replayed on Bravo. Walker Texas Ranger or something as bad. Yet another Law and Order of some sort. A sequel of some number to the original "Halloween". Oh, and Alladin is on network TV, so you get to see it with commercials!

Who else is going Saturday night?

We can't. Mr. Shh made plans with his college roommate so we're going to Bay Ridge, weather permitting.

Seriously, folks... for those of you on the fence, this truly is a great party. The bands are all good, the beer, wine and food are plentiful, the crowd is there for the fun and dancing, it's close to home... and it's for a great cause.

We bought 6 tickets and had to give them away.

We have to attend an annual Rotary Ball at the Hilton...

Not another time zone but they had a baby about 6 months ago and this is the first opportunity we've had to get together with them! They're getting a sitter too.

I hate the VZ bridge.

Art: WHAT??? Those Zany Rotarians again? A "Ball" this time? What are we gonna do with you? Do those stately Hiltonians have any idea what a sick, rowdy bunch they're in for? Where will they park all those full-dress hogs? What'll it be this time, Art? Zipguns? Chains? Broken Bottles? Will the Rescue Squad be on call, like last time at Cryan's? Will you wake up the next afternoon with another one of those obscene tattoos? Or maybe another Rainbow Mohawk? Why can't you just party like NORMAL people, Art? Why must there always be "consequences"? Why, Art? Can't you at least PLEASE stay away from the Ether Room this time?

I'm beggin' ya, Art, ya big lug.

-s.

BTW: Have fun Rotating...

This is no ordinary Ball pal, it's three Balls all rolled up into one Big Black Tie Event!!!

...you know how it is with me Soda, I gotta do what I gotta do!

BTW, the Good Art tells me some of the surviving musicians from the "Battle of the Bands" may be jamming at H2TA after their gig is over. So I may get to see the best of the bands after the Ball anyway...

Tickets will be available at Robin Hutchins Gallery and Mailboxes, Etc. until 4:30 PM on Saturday. There may be tickets available at the door. If there are tickets available at the door, they will go on sale at 6:30 PM in the lobby of the OLS Gym. Check or cash only and please make checks payable to Habitat for Humanity -Newark. Doors open at 7:00 PM and no one will be admitted before 7:00 PM. The first band hits at 7:30, so don't dawdle ...
Don't let the threat of snow keep you from this once-a-year event! The worst of the weather should hold out until after the show. Don't believe us? Check with the Weather Channel ...

Hank - I'll be wearing a Rolling Stones T-shirt - come say hi!!
shh- if it's too snowy to see the Brennan's, get your butts over to the gym! if the weather keeps some people away, even if it's sold out, I'd bet you can buy a ticket at the door....

mwoodwalk - the only one who gets a pass on tomorrow is Sam, since he lives up the hill. I hope to see you and your lovely wife....

Of course we'll be there! Where else would you be? Even going to have my son working, so don't make a big mess.
