About to have a pancakes, strawberries, bacon, sausage brunch in front of the fire (small portions).
Watch movies, video games and play with the dogs in the snow.
Go around the corner with neighbors to sis's house for prime rib, wine and champagne (large portions).
Stay in bed all Sunday. Plot how to get out of work on Monday.

Stay warm and safe everyone!

:-)

Tried to go to the A&P last night but it was mobbed! Got there this morning at 715 am and there was only 3 people in the store! Got everything I needed.

Cooked the jumbo shrimp already, making a pot of chicken soup as we speak, and then a pot of tomotoe sauce for later.

and can't forget, must play with dog in snow!

Stay warm and drink heavily,

Ken

We are all cozied up too, making sausage and peppers and an apple pie at some point. Just called the landscaper to remind him to plow my "driveway from Hell" tomorrow, all 60 feet of it, uphill to Ridgewood. Don't care how much it costs.

How about combining forces? :-)

Also, traying on the golf course. Carefully so not to spill. The drink.

Great idea! Plan a delicious meal, excellent beverages, good company, and lots of laughs. What else is there to do, anyway.
I have marinating meatballs in garlic and mushroom marinara, with Italian sausage simmering. We picked up some rum for our evening cocktails when the kids are asleep, and Ny cheesecake as a dessert, amongst other things., yum yum.

Oh my god, you guys are making me very jealous and homesick. It reminds me of the snowstorm party at my friend Sherry's house, around the corner. She made the most amazing turkey soup, everyone brought something yummy, and we all ate and laughed until it was time to cut through the backyards and go home.

Hope you're all enjoying it

emmie - I hope my guy plows before Monday AM (he usually plows in the middle of the night!). Am worried about hubby...he was leaving Montreal some time this morning or early afternoon to drive home. He has not checked in with an ETA, and I hesitate to call his cell in case he is driving.

Am hunkered down for the weekend... just hope the power holds, otherwise no TV or MOL!

spw784:

Call his cell and leave a tender message for him. He deserves it and you will feel much better for having connected with him. Who knows? He may have pulled off the road some place warm and safe and be eagerly awaiting your call.

I hope the power holds because our heat won't run without it. I still don't understand why the codes have been revised such that the older style gas furnaces (with pilot lights and millivolt thermostats) that didn't require electricity are no longer code-worthy!

Yes, a power outage would certainly screw up our cozy snow plans, I like to be warm during a snowstorm!
SPW, I hope you have heard someting by now. I also hope he gets off the highway to a safe place.

He has a bluetooth(?) phone in the car... He called me around 4 pm, stating he was just passing through some small town (Chazy?) just south of the Canadian/NY border (he had a business meeting) and would be home around 10 depending on traffic. It was apparently not yet snowing there. I told him It would be at least 10 am tomorrow before he'd make it home. I pleaded with him to find a motel and spend the night somewhere safer than stranded on the NYS Thruway. / I-87. Just spoke to him, around 7 ish, he plans to pull off in Albany (not sure how far he was from Albany, but he said he'd already been through the Adirondacks?) and spend the night. I told him to please call me when he is settled in. Thanks!

Hope everyone else's families and loved ones are home safe and sound, or if not home, are somewhere safe and sound.

update - hubby just SMSed me. He has safely arrived at the Albany Marriott. Phew - now I can sleep easier tonight, knowing he is not out driving, trying to make it home.
