Questions popped up in Duncan's blog about Millburnweb being offline. To keep the topic separate from his blog section, I'm shifting them here. |

Carrie meet Wendy. Wendy meet Carrie. And I would venture to guess that yes, she is the same Wendy and that the site broke the hosts rules somehow or Marc just didn't have enough hours in the day to maintain it..cause this is what I got when I went there (trying desperately to keep my blog about me

Ok please take the millburn online discussion out of my blog. This is not the appropriate place to discuss this. This is where I get to be all self important and egomaniacle like all actor/directors, ok. So shoo. |

Here is a letter from Marc, in regards to "millburn.web" This is the last comment in regards to it,( as you make it clear that it isn't about other things other than your stuff) but since it was started here, my husband and I thought we would let you know. Hi Mike and Carrie, MillburnWeb eas actually hosted under a separate domain under a corporate account of a startup company that I was part of. When the company was sold last year, the former people did not want to spend the money to renew the hosting fees. And, since the account was opened up under the corporate name, the hosting company will not let me get to the MillburnWeb stuff unless this year's hosting fees are paid. So, I am trying to work something out with the hosting company. Thanks, Marc

And carrie.. who exactly started it here??? Thanks for the info, Wendy said she was going to email marc, and now she wont. Also, the Private Line feature of MOL is great, where you click on the persons name and send them an email. Works wonders.. Have fun in the snow.

Duncan, I'm going to shift the off-topic posts to a new thread and delete them from your blog. |

I appreciate any way to make things more efficient.I did start the thread, but, again, being "NEW" I did not know the best place to place it, again, sorry for offending your space. Duncan: Thanks for the heads up about private email. You all have fun , too. |

I don't think giving out email address's are appropriate, unless they are public knowledge. If Marc thinks he can handle it, let's give him the benefit of the doubt. |

Justme, that's the annual fee for maintaining a domain name; it is separate from hosting. Carrie, no offense taken at all. Just trying to keep everyone happy. |

Marc is a registered user of this message board. If you don't know his e-mail address, you can always send him a private line with your message and even add a link to this thread if you want to. |

Hi Y'all, Here's the story in a nutshell.... When several partners and I started FormMaster (a company which was formed in 2002 to produce software for the mortgage title industry), we used FluidHosting.com for the web hosting. We signed up and paid for the hosting site as a corporation, and also registered the domain name under the corporation. We sold the company in 2003, but kept up the hosting. I started MillburnWeb.com under a separate domain under the FormMaster host. (It ws basically an effort to learn ASP.NET and the Microsoft .NET framework, a decision which has paid off handsomely.) However, the domain name, MillburnWeb.com, was paid for by the corporation. Now, since the company was sold, and the corporation does not exist, we did not renew the hosting for 2005. FluidHosting is giving me a real hard time about getting the domain name and retrieving the data for MillburnWeb (actually, all I need is the messsage board data). They say that, since it was registered to FormMaster LLC, that only FormMaster can change the registration info. The problem is compounded by the fact that the credit card used to open the hosting account was the credit card of an employee of one of our venture capitalists. So, right now, I don't know what the state of MillburnWeb is going to be. Sure, I have the code for the website, and can start a new site under a new domain and a new host, with a blank message board. But, since I am extremely busy at a new job, I really do not have the time to update the site. In fact, I really have not updated the site in quite a while, and I do not have the time to persue advertisers. If I can convince FluidHosting to give me the domain name and the data, then I will continue MillburnWeb. Otherwise, I am glad to read messages about Millburn here at MOL, which is a site that I enjoy being part of.

By the way, I am interested to hear how Dave and Jamie would handle this situation if it happened to one of their customers. I am not sure if they have a hosting plan which lets one user operate multiple domains. It could be that FluidHosting is acting in a perfectly reasonable manner, consistent with the world of web hosting. I am sure that there are a lot of attempts out there to hijack websites and domain names. |

The data would belong to whomevers name is on the domain record; in this case: Administrative Contact: Haberman, Andrew 550 Mamaroneck Avenue Suite 202 Harrison, NY 10528 US So go through Andrew to get the data, if that's possible. |
