The sorting hat says that I belong in Hufflepuff. Said Hufflepuff, "I'll teach the lot, and treat them just the same." Hufflepuff students are friendly, fair-minded, modest, and hard-working. A well-known member was Cedric Digory, who represented Hogwarts in the most recent Triwizard Tournament.

The Hat had trouble with me, tossing me back and forth between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff but eventually settled on Ravenclaw.

Said Ravenclaw, "We'll teach those whose intelligence is surest."
Ravenclaw students tend to be clever, witty, intelligent, and knowledgeable. Notable residents include Cho Chang and Padma Patil (objects of Harry and Ron's affections), and Luna Lovegood (daughter of The Quibbler magazine's editor).

Gryffindor was not far behind (91, 89, and 82 respectively.)
Slytherin fell way behind at 26.

I knew before I even took the test it would place me in Hufflepuff (although Ravenclaw was a close second).

Hufflepuff
That took a while to fill out. I had filled out up to 40 before I realized that there where 70 more questions. But by that point I had done so much that I didn't want to just give up.

Gryffindor

Said Gryffindor, "We'll teach all those with brave deeds to their name."

Students of Gryffindor are typically brave, daring, and chivalrous. Famous members include Harry, Ron, Hermione, Albus Dumbledore (head of Hogwarts), and Minerva McGonagall (head of Gryffindor).

So you give them basically an entire run down of who you are and then provide them with your email address. How much do you think they turn around and sell this information for? They say they use if for research but there are no privacy rules.

snhirsch:

E-mail address is not a required field. I left the e-mail address box blank and the sorting hat still placed me in one of the four houses of Hogwarts.

I was in Hufflepuff with Ravenclaw a close second (don't remember the exact score). It seems like most MOLers ended up with a similar pattern.

The almost 9 year old took the test and ended up in Ravenclaw. But, he got a very high score (in the 50's) for Slytherin! Hmmmmm.

Hufflepuff 92

Nary a drop of Slytherin - 27. The other two were 82/83

So, since I never could get into HP, what does all of this mean?

Always, always Ravenclaw. My obsessed kid makes me take innumerable quizzes about this and I always come out as a Ravenclaw (actually this isn't much of a surprise). The kid in question cheats and lies to get the desired Gryffindor result but of course, she is a natural Slytherin, she just lies and manipulates the quiz to get the red and gold.
