Dave -- thanks!! I have been trying to get reservations at Per se for a LONG time (for my boss, not us). I hadn't thought of opentable.com ... skipping off to try it. |

Cause I haven't gotten a reservation at Per Se I made one at Masa -- a japanese tasting menu at Time Warner. Supposed to be "the best" -- it's something crazy like $400/pp

you need to call 2 months to the day to get a reservation at Per Se. Best bet is to have them put you on the wait list and be open to going anytime there is a canelation. My brother is an executive chef in NYC at a great place so I have an inside track... but I try not to abuse it. |

I had an absolutely fabulous meal at Per Se (especially good because it was on an expense account so I didn't have to pay for it). I got the reservations by calling 2 months to the day. It took a little bit of work (kind of like getting concert tickets), but I did get reservations for the day I wanted. Wonderful meal and a wonderful place -- definitely worth the effort. |

A friend of mine's sister is somehow connected to the French Laundry and asked if my husband and I would like to join them at Per Se last November. We had planned to go but it was a Saturday night and I had just returned from India. I bailed due to jet lag at the last minute and was mightily relieved when I found out the tab for 2 was $700.00..... Now, I'm a restaurant junkie but that is just ridiculous! |
