My spouse is about to hit one of those landmark numbers, and I figure deserves a big to-do. Only problem is that I don't have a whole lot of money. So I'm looking for a fairly nice, reasonably-priced place to have a party. I'm not even sure what I mean by "reasonable"; I'm just beginning to look into this. (And, yes, I know; I could do this at home. But then I'd have to, um, clean the house.)

Any suggestions? Any personal experiences to share?

More specifics, please. How many guests? Sit-down, buffet or cocktail style? Time of year? Adults and kids or adults only?

The answer to these questions will help guide suggestions.

I have been to a private party at lot 15. It was very nice and the food was good. Of course, I have no idea how much it cost.

OK; I didn't know people would be that interested. OTOH, I should know by now how helpful MOLers can be.

First, though, I apologize for the badly spelled word in the subject line. I really should learn to proofread.

ANYway, I'm thiking maybe 30-40 people; in April; buffet or cocktail party, i.e., NOT a sit-dow, served meal; maybe an afternoon thing - it's gotta be cheaper than evening; mostly adults, certainly no little kids (the youngest would be 8). Don't really care what kind of food. Would like to keep to Mwood/SO/WO/Millburn/Springfield/Union - one of those towns.

Does that help?

Did you say you're thinking about a party for 30-40 people in April? A buffet or cocktail party, maybe an afternoon thing, because don't want to spend a whole lot of money. Somewhere in the Maplewood area, where food is not such an important issue...

Sounds to me like you should be calling www.heres2thearts.com
