Whatever happened to all the rhetoric about fiscal responsibility? When Democrats had the majority of both houses of Congress, the Republicans wanted to rein them in with a balanced budget amendment. Now they don't give a hoot. What gives?

Tom, Tom, Tom. You must stop reading that stuff. It is only going to upset you. You need to trust that our President and Congressional leaders know what is best for you. Asking all these silly questions only makes it harder for them to do their jobs. Dissent is unAmerican--besides, there is a war on (and when this one is over they will start another one). Didn't you read the WSJ "article" on how the deficit really isn't a deficit and that it will have no impact on interest rates. Sure, that is opposite to what the WSJ said a few years back, but everything is so much nicer now in Bushtimes that it really does not matter. Why do you insist on injecting sour notes into the serenity of this administration?
