Strawberry is one of the few people on this thread that makes me laugh out loud. And when he gets his adversaries going, I laugh some more. |

This thread offers me an excellent opportunity to remind MOL posters that becoming a "Supporter" has plenty of advantages. Please give to MOL to keep our site alive and well. It's the least anyone who loves MOL can do. thank you |

This is pretty hilarious. I thought this was a place where people could express their opinions. Everyone on this little board has their own views of the use of this board. Some like to make hit and run remarks. Some like long, long diatribes. Some like to simply post links to web sites. Some believe the NY Times has all the answers. Some like to just mess with other posters. Some think we actually set policy. Some think it's worthless. Bottom line is Strawberry can make whatever remarks that he/she wants. Some will view them as funny others will view them as sinister. If you don't want to get mad or get a good laugh then why do you check this board? |

If you value an open forum in which people can express a variety of ideas on any given subject and hopefully learn something from each other in the process, then ostracizing or excommunicating a frequent participant isn't the answer. If you think someone is trolling, ignore them. If you think someone's position is seriously wrong, try to show them the error of their ways, hopefully without feeling the need to resort to a personal attack. |

Southerner wrote: "I thought this was a place where people could express their opinions." And Southerner is correct, that's exactly what this is. And Joan wrote: "If you value an open forum in which people can express a variety of ideas on any given subject and hopefully learn something from each other in the process, then ostracizing or excommunicating a frequent participant isn't the answer." And Joan is also correct. But this discussion isn't about disagreeing with someone. This is about behavior which seeks to chase people off the board. Lots of people won't put up with that kind of nonsense, and will just stop participating here. So, we are all the poorer for it, if people get tired of being addressed with mindless insults if they venture to express their views. |

The only people who have stopped participating here are libs who have been proven wrong over and over. Bush won, the Republican strong hold in Congress grew, the Iraqis came out in force to vote. On and on and on. The Republicans have been right, the far left wrong. Libs who have stopped posting here have done so because they are sick of being wrong. Can't blame them. Afterall, the liberal movement has received quite a spanking and its a movement as a result is on its last legs. So you ask where are they? Answer: They don't exist anymore. Some may return one day, but most will simply mature into rational thinkers over the next few years. You see people the thing is this. America is my country. I am America and America is me. Love it or leave it, we just don't care about radicals anymore. We have bigger fish to fry. I'm Straw and I approve this message. |

As if you guys would actually want the "loyal opposition" to give up. I doubt you'd actually enjoy living in "BushWorld". |

i could care less about his politics. i am neither liberal nor conservative. i am a libertarian. its his insulting manner of comparing peoples parents to nazi guards and such that i find completely unconducive to rational discussion. i am all for open debate and differing opinions. i am not for denigration. |

Local_1 -- who has emailed their support? Why do you continue to post on this thread when you have vowed that you "will never respond to a strawberry post and will skip over and ignore those posts until strawberry decides to post like an adult."? Local, your posts are boring. I can't recall one which has been amusing, insightful or enlightening. I would choose being "denigrated" by Strawberry than have to have a rational conversation with you any day! At least that would lead to some amusing banter. |
